The Navaratna (Nine Gems) of the Vedic tradition possess extremely potent energy for healing when used with proper knowledge. The right gem is capable of aiding one's spiritual practice, supporting mental balance, health, success and prosperity in all spheres of life including education, career, and relationships. These stones can be equally powerful to hurt a person when the wrong stone is used, so it is important to use the right gem at the right time based upon one's constitution and condition. There is a lot of misinformation about gemstone remedies, some being propagated by some very famous and influential lineages of astrologers and teachers selling modern and obscure techniques for a profit. There are many unqualified and unscrupulous Vedic astrologers and many shifty gems sellers making a small fortune by recommending the wrong gems to their unsuspecting clients. They are causing much unneeded suffering as they deceive their unsuspecting clients into purchasing expensive gem remedies which are actually doing more harm than good. There are relatively few who are competent at the methods for recommending gemstone remedies. This is a subject which requires years of study to master. The gemstone needed most by a person can be understood clearly by looking at a person's inner aura. Knowledge of the right stone for a person can be confirmed by consulting their astrology or through the radial pulse. This class provides a thorough introduction to the traditional science of Vedic gemology. It should be noted that we do not sell gemstones but provide authentic teachings about the traditional practice as laid out in the scriptures. Swamiji's knowledge of gems is drawn from the tradtional texts on Ayurveda, Astrology, and Gemology and from his vast knowledge of Vedic Astrology, Ayurveda, and from teachings he received from two of his realized masters on the energy of mantras, deities, planets, karmas, herbs, gems, and metals.
