Sponsor the Travel of Three Hand-carved Murtis From India

Your donation helps to bring the Shakambhari Devi Temple Murtis from India.

There is a special opportunity for people to contribute. We are preparing to bring three large black granite murtis from India. Swamiji commissioned these several years back, and carving is being completed in Kanchi, India under the expert guidance of Shri Jayendra Sthapati. We are now arranging preparations to pack and ship the murtis. The three murtis which are being completed are of Ganapati, Shivalingam, and Dhanvantari.  Please scroll down to learn more and to sponsor the murtis.
Update - 9-24-2022 - We have raised enough money to pay for all three murtis and money has been sent to the Sthapati to pack them into crates for shipping. Due to the increased prices of gas after the covid pandemic, shipping will cost somewhat more than expected. We still need to raise an additional $1,600 to cover shipping costs to bring all three murtis to Virginia. We are very close to meeting our goal and still expect to have the murtis here soon. Please donate through the links below.

"Murtis are more than sacred images. They are the physical embodiment of the Shakti of God on Earth. Though God pervades all of creation, Divine presence is especially powerful around consecrated images."

- Gananathamritananda Swamiji

Ganapati

Lord Ganesha is the remover of obstacles. He grants Buddhi (wisdom) and Siddhi (attainments). He brings consciousness into the root chakra at the base of the spine to facilitate spiritual awakening. He is prayed to for success in all endeavors and especially for students, scientists, writers, and artists for success in their work.

The 28 inch tall carving and packaging of Ganapati has been sponsored in full. We are raising funds to ship the his murti to Virginia. This will cost an estimated: $800

This is a photo of a Shivalingam, like the one being carved for us in India.

Shivalingam

Shiva is the Lord of all. He pervades and transcends all that is. He is represented in non-representational form of the Shivalingam. The lingam represents the union of the Shiva and Shakti, the two cosmic forces guiding everything in creation.  Lord Shiva in his aspect as Rudra, the destroyer is capable of removing all sorts of troubles and difficulties and leading people toward liberation from suffering of all kinds.

An estimated $1,500 is needed still to pay the Sthapati to pack and ship the 38'' Shivalingam.

Yes, I want to sponsor Shivalingam.

Dhanvantari

Dhanvantari is a healing form of Lord Vishnu. He is the embodiment of the Divine power of healing. He is capable of curing all diseases and grants devotees long, healthy, happy lives. He carried the conch (shankha), discus (chakra), leech, and a pot of immortal nectar (amritakalasha).

An estimated $1,200 is needed to pay the Sthapati, package and ship the 36'' Dhanvantari murti.

Yes, I want to sponsor Dhanvantari.
