About Navaratri 

Navaratri is the nine night festival for the Goddess which happens annually in the month of Ashvina (Sept / Oct).

​This celebration is very important for us, as we are building a Temple for Devi. It falls this year between Oct. 3rd and Oct 12th.

​This year, we are continuing our special fund raiser for the temple, offering sponsors sphatika (quartz) malas or jade shri yantras. We will be  performing nightly abhishekam of the Jade Meru Chakras. We will also be reciting Lalita Sahasranamam and Shakambhari Mahatmyam, and offer Navavarana Puja on Navami. Swamiji's book on Shri Vidya and Navavarana Puja tells more about this. 

On the final day of Vijaya Dashami on the 24th, we plan to make a very special offering of Shakambhari Alankaran, decorating the Goddess with garlands of various fruits and vegetables.

We need sponsors for the pujas. This year we are conducting a special fundraiser to help with needed repairs to the buildings here. People can open themselves to the healing energy of the pujas by contributing. Nothing is impossible in this world with the grace of the Goddess. We will be sending kumkuma (red powder) blessing during Sahasranam Archanam to all sponsors, so please leave you address with your contribution.   

Sponsors who give $250 will get a sphatika (quartz) japa mala of 108 beads blessed during our navaratri pujas. This could be worn or used for japa. Sponsors who give $1,000 will get a jade meru shri yantra (about 2 inches tall) blessed during our pujas. This is like a miniature version of the jade yantra we use for prayers here at the temple. Prana Pratishtha will not be done so daily puja rituals are not required for the yantras. They have been blessed to increase abundance and to aid your sadhana. We recommend keeping them in your place of prayer. Instructions for simple weekly offerings for those who want to help keep the yantras charged with energy will be sent with the yantra. This is a special opportunity to bring the shakti of Shakambhari Devi into your practice and home.
