"The more we offer in service, the more we become purified we become.
There is no practice that better prepares a student for spiritual awakening than service of a Guru. The energetic presence of the Guru helps ensure that work done outwardly affects a seeker inwardly as well. Karma yoga is a great way to reprogram the unconscious mind. The ego nature is to seek pleasure and take for itself. Through seva (selfless service) we release the attachments of the ego and connect with the higher self. "

About the Retreat
We offer room and board for students interested in performing spiritual service for Soma Matha. The schedule, detailed below, is informal and evenly-paced. Your work is determined according to our current needs for assistance as well as your interests and abilities. Time is built-in for students to enjoy the spiritual energy, rest, meditate, and integrate their experience through the retreat. All meals are prepared under Swamiji's guidance to be fresh, enlivening, dosha-balancing, and delicious. We are happy to work with sincere seekers to build a relationship that meets both of our needs.
