Dipavali Lakshmi Puja

Dipavali Lakshmi Puja - Nov 8th 2026

Dīpāvalī (Deewali) day occurs on the New Moon day in Kartika Month. This is an especially dark night during a very dark time of the year, which is celebrated as a festival of light. Ghee or oil lamps are lit to drive away darkness and to celebrate the light of spiritual illumination. In the dark, it is easier to perceive even the subtlest rays of light, so this is a very sacred time which helps empower our efforts to meditate upon the inner light of the soul which is identical to the Light of the Goddess. Goddess Lakshmi is commonly worshiped this day to increase happiness, health, wealth, and prosperity. Due to the very sacred nature of this day, many Holy people throughout history have been born or passed from the body at this time. One of Swamiji’s masters was born on this day and another took samadhi just after the conclusion of Dipavali. It is a very special day for increasing spiritual connection and for increasing material enjoyment and prosperity.

This year we will be performing a special Lakshmi puja to help increase prosperity and abundance for society. Many people are struggling in the aftermath of the pandemic. Inflation is escalating but many people’s wages are not increasing proportionately. We have heard many people complaining of difficulty to make ends meet now. For the benefit of society, we will be offering a special puja with 108 recitations of the Vedic Shri Suktam to seek Goddess Lakshmi’s blessings.

Sponsor the Dipavali Lakshmi Puja to Receive a Golden Shri Yantra

This year we are blessing 24 carat gold plated yantra pendants during Dipavali day Lakshmi Puja for those who donate $108. Because we have heard many people expressing concerns about the rising cost of living, we are offering this blessing to help increase happiness, wealth, comfort, prosperity, and spiritual connection. Gold has a special property to allow the Devas to see into the physical realm, so by wearing gold it is possible to increase Divine grace. Gold also has a mystical property to attract wealth and abundance, so wearing gold increases and person’s fortune, success, and wealth. These sacred amulets have the Shri Yantra on one side and an image of Goddess Lakshmi on the other. They are plated in 24 carat gold and laminated to protect the gold from wearing with use.
