Netron-mīlanam means connecting with the Divine
Netron-mīlanam is an eye opening ceremony performed as a part of consecration rituals in temples. The word comes from the Sanskrit roots Netra "Eye" and Unmīlanam "opening the eye, becoming visible." The ceremonies help to open channels to the inner realms so that the Devas can more easily see, bless and communicate with devotees in the physical realm. The rituals also help to increase people's abilities to perceive spiritual energies and the presence of the Devas in the sacred space of the Temple.
