Help us Build a Sannidhi for the Goddess
A Sannidhi is a building-shaped altar for a deity in a Temple. Sannidhi means "nearness," "presence," "visibility," or "gathering place." This is the sacred Sanctum sanctorum of the Temple where icons of the Deity are installed. The shakti (energy) of the Deity is built in the sannidhi through daily pujas and sent from there throughout the Temple and to the surrounding region. A sannidhi is designed according to specific proportions revealed by the Sages to help amplify and project the healing energies from puja ceremonies. We are constructing a traditional sannidhi for Goddess Shakambhari Devi which will be installed in our newly purchased Center. Until we have paid off the mortgage on the property, and we can begin construction of a separate agamic-style Temple building, we intend to use this sannidhi to house Goddess Shakambhari.
We hope to install the finished Sannidhi in the house we have purchased for the center in early 2016. We need donations to help buy materials to finish the construction of the Sannidhi. And we need money for shipping several more black stone statues from India. Please Donate Generously Today.

Several student's have been volunteering to work on the elaborate project. A carpenter and sculptor are working together to build the structure according to Swamiji's sketch. An architect has helped us by creating a scale drawing from Swamiji's original sketch from which the carpenter is taking measurements. When finished, the Sannidhi will house a large photo and Jade yantra of Goddess Shakambhari. We are performing regular pujas of the yantra which will be installed in the finished Temple along with a large black stone statue of the Goddes. The Dwara palaka (door guardians) of Devi, Ganapati and Murugan will be installed also in the Sannidhi. We have black stone staues of Ganapati, Dhanvantari and Shivalainga carved and ready to ship in India. We are raising money also to ship the statues to Virginia.
